Chapter 4. Updating PMB

Updating an existing version of the database :

Updating a version of PMB is done by replacing your installation files with those contained in the ZIP archive of the new version.

Caution : After every installation or version update when you install a new version over an existing one, after extracting the files contained in the archive on to your Web server, you imperatively have to :

check whether the parameters in

./includes/db_param.inc.php

./opac_css/includes/opac_db_param.inc.php

correspond to your configuration (make a backup beforehand !)

In addition :

You have to update the heart of your very database.

Nothing will be lost.

To effect this update :

Login as usual to PMB, the graphical style could be different, there may not even be one (a rather disorderly screen display with no colour or images)
Go to Administration > Tools > Database update to update the heart of your database. A series of messages will indicate to you the successive updates, continue the database update with the link displayed at bottom of page until you see on your screen 'Your database is up-to-date in version ...'

if necessary, you can then edit your account to change your preferences, namely the display style.
